Q1 Analysis and comparison of ancillaries

If you look at these two images we see that the one on the left is the one that myself and the other members of the group have created and the one on the left is from the Killers which is for a release of an album, where as ours is there for promoting the band. However when creating these two tasks I wanted to make sure that we paid homage to this great music as they are one of the all-time indie bands of our generation. Ways in which I have done this is by using the same type of text and also that paint splatter effect which we felt was really eye catching for the view of the magazine that this would be in.

we feel that with the paint splodging it is something that our band and group stand for and something that others can associate the band by. We also knew that a logo or a certain text type was going to help us as you can see although the Killers font is in that dotted/Splodge text format it is something that has gone on their Digipack and other merchandise that they produce so that is why we created a brand logo that however didn’t pay homage to the Killers but paid homage to the conventions of indie rock which is Scruffy, smart black and white this is something that people can associate to the band and something that can go on different pieces of clothing and gives the band a brand.
